HCM City bourse in tie-up with Deloitte

HCM CITY — The HCM Stock Exchange and audit and consulting firm Deloitte Vietnam yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding for supporting enterprises with corporate governance.
The co-operation will focus on areas like providing information on the latest corporate governance models and consultancy for restructure, risk management, auditing, and inspection.
"We chose Deloitte Vietnam as a partner to help listed companies acquire the latest information on and apply advanced corporate governance systems to improve transparency and business effectiveness," HOSE general director Tran Dac Sinh said.
Also yesterday the two sides organised their first seminar under the co-operation programme, with experts highlighting the need for transparency of companies' financial reports.
They also discussed the information disclosures required by Singapore and Hong Kong stock exchanges.
Tran Anh Dao, director of HOSE's listing management department, said 96 per cent of firms listed on the bourse had internal corporate governance regulations.
Thirty-six per cent of them have chairs who are also general directors.
Most of the firms do not have sub-divisions in charge of salary and bonus, personnel, and internal audit under the executive board. Many of them do not have investor relation departments and information officers.
