TV show promotes Vietnamese goods

HA NOI — Suc Song Viet, a television programme intended to encourage consumers to use made-in-Viet Nam products, debuts on VTV3 today and will be broadcast daily from 6:30 to 6:45am.
Part of the National Trademark Promotion Programme, Suc Song Viet would provide a good opportunity for domestic enterprises to effectively advertise their brands and products, said Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thanh Bien at a press conference last Friday.
The programme would also help create a closer link between manufacturers, service providers and consumers nationwide, he said.
Largest plastic pipe factory opens
HUNG YEN — Binh Minh Plastics Joint Stock Co launched the country's largest high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic pipe production line in the northern province of Hung Yen last week.
Worth VND80 billion (US$3.9 million), the facility will churn out 10,000 tonnes of HDPE pipe each year and increase the company's yearly capacity to 70,000 tonnes.
Legamex to build $39m shopping centre
HCM CITY — Legamex will join hands with Gia Dinh Development and Investment Co and the Ocean Group to develop a VND800 billion (US$39 million) shopping complex in HCM City, under a deal inked here last Friday.
Ocean Group will contributed 75 per cent of the total investment, while Legamex and Gia Dinh will contribute the remaining 25 per cent. Ocean Group affiliate Ocean Bank will provide banking services and capital support for the project.
Korean firm builds luxury apartments
HCM CITY — South Korea's Charm Engineering Co has begun construction on the Charm Plaza luxury apartment complex in Di An District in the southern province of Binh Duong at a cost of more than US$200 million.
The complex will include six 24-storey blocks with 2,700 units. The Korean supermarket chain Lotte Mart will open a 12,500-square metre outlet at the site at a cost of $7 million to build, said Charm director Jeon Yong Ho.
