Paris-based businesses meet to seek new opportunities

PARIS — The Viet Nam-Cambodia-Laos (VCL) Business Club in Paris held its fifth meeting in Paris on December 19 with the participation of 86 entrepreneurs.
Participants discussed plans to boost trade and investment co-operation between the three Southeast Asian countries with their French partners.
They agreed to increase exchanges of information on finance, marketing and human resources.
Vietnamese commerce counsellor to France Pham Xuan Yen briefed the meeting on Viet Nam's economic situation and trade relations with France in 2010.
At present, France has almost 200 investment projects in Viet Nam with a combined capital of nearly US$3 billion, ranking 9th among foreign investors in the country.
French businesses are concentrated in transport, telecommunications, hospitality, tourism, agro-forestry and fisheries in 24 cities and provinces in Viet Nam. Those projects have generated over 24,000 jobs for local people.
Yen expressed his hope that the VCL Business Club would further boost activities to promote trade and investment with Vietnamese enterprises.
