Industry and trade building expo opens

TAY NINH — Tay Ninh Province will host the 2010 Industry and Trade-Building Expo this month to develop trade relations between the province and Cambodia. The six-day fair will open on December 21 and has 500 stalls. It will also include investment promotion activities in trade, tourism and construction

Farm expo sees deals worth $28.2 million

CAN THO — Viet Nam International Agriculture Fair 2010 held in the southern province of Can Tho from December 6-12 attracted more than 170,000 local and overseas visitors.

Sales worth VND550 billion (US$28.2 million) were negotiated.

The fair attracted 270 enterprises who set up more than 500 booths.

More than 3000 items of machinery, farm tools, chemicals, crop protection sprays, seeds and livestock were on display.

Seafood trade group supports fish price

HCM CITY — A contract to lift the floor price of exported tra fish was signed by the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) and top 20 exporters last week.

Accordingly, tra fish white meat will now sell for US$3 per kilo compared to the old price of $2.7.

Unclaimed goods in warehouses to be sold

HA NOI — Unclaimed goods stored in bonded warehouses valued at less than VND50 million (US$2,500) will be sold, according to the Circular No 195/2010/TT-BTC issued by Ministry of Finance.

Unclaimed perishable goods will also be sold directly. The owner of the warehouses must notify the shippers five days before the expiry of the storage contract.
