HA NOI — Song Thu Company, part of the General Department of National Defence Industry, has begun operating the hydrographic survey vessel (HSV) -6613, the first of its kind in Viet Nam.
The technologically advanced, 66.3m by 13.2m vessel was designed by the Damen Group from the Netherlands and built under the supervision of the UK's Lloyd Register Group.
It is capable of operating in shallow waters and strong winds and can sail at an average speed of 10 knots and function for 60 days straight at sea.
Jetstar Pacific offers super-cheap fares
HA NOI — Jetstar Pacific is offering cheap airfares of VND230,000 (US$11.8) for Ha Noi-Da Nang, Da Nang-HCM City and Hue-HCM City flight routes from December 3-7.
Ha Noi-HCM City and Hai Phong-HCM City flights will cost VND575,000.
The discount programme will be applied for flights from Ha Noi, Vinh, Hue and Da Nang to HCM City departing from January 14 to February 1 next year. In addition, the discount will apply for Ha Noi-Da Nang flights departing January 5-25 and HCM City-Hai Phong flights departing January 5 – 13.
The programme will apply to holders of domestic credit and debit cards of Visa, Master Card, JCB, Amex or ATMs of Vietcombank, Vietinbank, Dong A bank, VIB bank, HD Bank or those who use online payment services of Techcombank, Dong A Bank and Tien Phong bank.
TransUnion to set up office in Viet Nam
HCM CITY — US-headquartered TransUnion, a global leader in credit information management, announced last Saturday it has obtained a business license to establish its local affiliate, the TransUnion Viet Nam company.
TransUnion says it maintains credit files on over 500 million consumers worldwide, helps them manage their credit health and "gain access to the credit they deserve."
It also claims to help businesses improve efficiency, manage risk by delivering comprehensive data, advanced analytics and automated solutions. Credit reporting helps lenders approve and grant loans faster, the firm said in a press release.
Truong Hai Auto to list in 2011
HCM CITY — The Truong Hai Auto Joint-stock Company (Thaco) has set a target of listing at the HCM City Stock Exchange in the first half of 2011.
It expects to manufacture and sell 32,500 automobiles at minimum price of VND12.039 trillion, which is hoped to bring in a total net profit of VND750 billion.
This year's first 10 months saw its sales of more than 20,000 automobiles for VND6.159 billion, up 23 per cent over the same period in 2009, which yielded a net profit of VND504 billion.
KDC to release shares for mergers
HCM CITY — Kinh Do Corp (KDC) has obtained permission from the State Securities Commission to release almost 18.245 million shares to serve its merger of North Kinh Do (NKD) and Kido JSC.
More than 13.743 million units will be for swapping with NKD shares, every new share will go for 1.1 NKD share.
The remaining 4.5 million new shares will be for converting Kido's shares at the same rate as NKD.
Idico Long Son to list on HOSE
HCM CITY — Idico Long Son Industrial Park Investment Joint Stock Company will, on schedule, be listed on the board of the HCM City Stock Exchange on Thursday.
PXL has a charter capital of VND827.222 billion. Its reference price is VND18,000.
Last year the company netted a profit of VND54 billion from a VND309 billion turnover. This year's figures are expected at VND63 billion and VND529 billion respectively.
Next year, as several new projects will create turnover, the turnover is expected to rise to VND1 trillion and net profit, VND104 billion.
Cuu Long Petro to join HCMC bourse
HCM CITY — The CuÛu Long Petro Urban Development and Investment Corp (PVCL) has announced the completion of listing procedures and expects to list at HOSE before the year's end.
PVCL has VND250 billion in charter capital, with institutions including the company Viet Nam Fund Management (VFM), securities company Agriseco and PettroVietnam Finance Corp as major shareholders.
The company had a turnover of VND87 billion and a net profit of almost VND20 billion in the third quarter, representing 54 per cent and over 40 per cent, respectively, of the year's targets.
Imexpharm to issue new shares
HCM CITY — Pharmaceutical company Imexpharm (IMP) has received permission from the State Securities Commission to sell more than 4.3 million shares to the public to increase its charter capital to VND160 billion from the current VND116.6 billion before the year-end.
Of the total new shares, 2.332 million will go to existing shareholders, 200,000 to employees and over 1.808 million to strategic partners.Source: vnagency.com.vn
