12 millionth passenger takes off on Vietnam Airlines

HA NOI – Vietnam Airlines welcomed its 12 millionth passenger at Noi Bai Airport in Ha Noi today, fulfilling its annual target for this year early.

The target was announced by the carrier's deputy general director Duong Tri Thanh in July at a press conference held in HCM City.

Last year, the carrier launched 73,499 domestic and foreign flights with over 9.34 million passengers and 131,221 tonnes of cargo, an increase from the previous year of 6.6 and 3.2 per cent respectively.

It also reported over VND24.4 trillion (US$1.2 billion) in revenue and VND150 billion ($7.5 million) in pre-tax profit.

Later today, the carrier will announce its estimated business results for this year.
