Viet Nam-Cambodia agree to $22m rice co-operation

HA NOI — Thai Thinh Co has inked a US$22.4 million agreement with Cambodian-based Takmoa Agriculture Development Association to co-operate in growing rice for export.
The partners will plant two rice crops per year at an estimated yield of 7 tonnes per hectare, targeting exports of 100,000 tonnes per year, and Thai Thinh will provide technical assistances in rice cultivation and processing to the Cambodian association. The partners will also build an irrigation system and a rice processing facility with an estimated output capacity of 500 tonnes per day.
Vicentra Plaza, apartment tower opens in Vinh City
VINH — Vinh Trade Centre Investment Joint Stock Co (Vicentra), a subsidiary of Eurowindow Holdings, opened the doors of its new Vicentra Plaza complex in the city of Vinh in Nghe An Province on Tuesday.
The Plaza, covering an area of 11,352sq.m, includes a 20-storey apartment tower, with the first four floors dedicated to shopping areas, including a Big C hypermarket.
Cold LPG warehouse, port completed in Long An
HA NOI — PetroVietnam and Vina Benny Energy Joint Stock Co have constructed a US$245 million cold liquid petroleum gas (LPG) warehouse and port in the southern province of Long An.
The facility, with a capacity of 84,000 tonnes, is believed to be the largest such facility in Viet Nam and includes an international entry port with 60,000 DWT in loading capacity.
Sumidenso builds $20m auto electronics plant
HA NOI — Sumidenso Viet Nam Ltd has built a US$20 million automotive electronics and accessories plant in Nghia An Industrial Park in the nothern province of Hai Duong.
This plant, which produces electronic components and accessories for automobiles, is expected to generate 1,700 jobs.
